Castles and rainbows.

I couldn't get back onto my journal last night and Photobucket was being very uncooperative so I stomped off to bed in a marked manner! Today I thought I'd try to access the internet with Safari and it's worked ~ I can get to every page on Photobucket.
I know I've already shown you the first photo of Eilean Donan castle but it was much smaller and harder to see so I've added it again. I love that stuff over the ground, it looks like paprika! The first six photos are of the castle which is the most photographed castle in Scotland. Like a lot of places in Scotland it seems to have an air of mystery and magic around it as though time has stood still.

Portree on the Isle of Skye, a beautiful, little town with lots of old buildings and very steep hills!

Portree harbour.

How could you not love a country with so many rainbows?! The rain over the mountains produces a lot of rainbows, it looks enchanting as you drive along.

The rain also keeps the waterfalls flowing, we saw so many as we passed through Glencoe.
Ooh, look, another rainbow!!

I love this view, it's quite eerie!

This is the remains of an old stone cottage, the roof has gone and only the walls remain.

Saucy Mary's Lodge on the Isle of Skye.

The lighthouse under the bridge on Skye.

Doesn't the pink heather look pretty on the roadside? Everything is so picture-perfect here!
The rest of these photos are all taken on Skye, such a beautiful but bleak place, it was very warm on the day we went there, warmed by the gulf stream.

I'm enjoying adding these photos, it's good to look at them again although I wouldn't like to be there in the winter, southern softie.... that's me! Lol!
I'll also try and add the photos I took in the Lake District and Pembrokeshire this summer; two absolutely stunning areas. As you know, I normally travel abroad but decided to stay in the UK this year and take a look at my homeland. Apart from the weather in the Lakes it's been beautiful.
I'll be back soon to add some more photos so till then I'll say have a good weekend. One day I may actually remember to add a signature tag!! Lol!

We stayed overnight in a B&B in Portree and found a brilliant little restaurant which sold the most delicious Aberdeen Angus steaks. We still talk about them. I have tried my best to capture the flavour since, even buying the expensive Aberdeen Angus, but failed miserably. I guess we will have to return again. lol
You have brought back lots of memories for me. Just magical photos Jeannette. Ta muchly!

Hi Jeannette....just lovely! I agree, though, I think winter would be forbidding. I've been cleaning thousands of emails out of my AOL account and have been coming upon my blogger buddies entries. I'm determined to get back into life and join my friends again. Love xx Chris
